Nic and Kolo is part of the ever-growing Applecross cafe scene. They are fully licensed, and do dinner Wednesday to Saturday.

They do great food, and have the accolades to prove it. They recently won two gold plate awards at the recent Catering Institute of Australia 2017 Kleenheat Gold Plate Awards. One in the breakfast category, and one in the licensed cafe category. They also took home the Premier’s Award (overall winner across all categories) and were a finalist for excellence in service. (Very impressive!)

We enjoyed the following from their award-winning, and recently updated, summer menu;

  • the “Du Pain Frire” – fried bread with anchovies and green salsa
  • the pan fried barramundi with black rice, octopus, and herb mayo
  • the son in law eggs
  • the brown butter crepe with vanilla ricotta cheesecake, berries and lemon sorbet
  • the soft shell tacos with torched salmon belly, daikon capers, and pickled shallots and with spiced bolognaise, smoked mozzarella, peppers and fried onion (only available after 3pm)
