I’m going to be perfectly honest, I completely forgot to take any happy snaps of the interior of Operator25 because I got slightly overwhelmed by the amazingness of the food.

Rookie error. Whoops.

However, this means that you can be completely assured that my focus was on the food and that I wholeheartedly mean it when I say that this café is freaking good.

Operator25 is a brunch and specialty coffee café in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

It’s been open since April 2013, and its name reflects the fact that it is housed in Melbourne’s first telephone exchange building. Which is pretty cool.

Coffee-wise, they use Code Black and Cartel Roasters.

The menu changes with the season, and they pride themselves on offering classics with a twist. i.e. the Balinese pulled pork burger that is one of their lunch options. YUM.

The kitchen team is led by Valerie Fong and Felipe Guedes. Previously, Valerie and Felipe worked together at Bacash in South Yarra and have a passion for providing quality, innovative cuisine.

Operator25 is a must visit if you find yourself in Melbourne’s CBD. The staff are delightfully friendly and the matcha and white chocolate hot cakes are a borderline religious experience.
