This post was originally going to be my top five brilliant brekkies in Melbourne, but then I realised that I couldn’t narrow my current favourites down to that number.
Check out where I’ve been dining below!
This place is amazing. I’d never seen an avocado smash plated up like this (and, as you’ll soon see, I order it a LOT) and it was as tasty as it was generous.
Their other food looked delicious and Sheetal* who I breakfasted with really enjoyed her corn fritter too.
This was DELICIOUS. It’s the perfect season for mushrooms and they tasted so good with the goats cheese cream. The addition of the nutty flavour of the almonds also worked a treat.
The guys who work here are super lovely, and ditto the food! This avo smash is one of my favourites, and I lurrrrve the polenta with it.
I’ve ordered this one with toast on this occasion, but if you’re not very hungry the toast can easily be left out.
Red velvet pancakes. Need I say anymore? Muharam is the sister cafe of Sardi (also in Hawthorn) and both cafes offer brilliant breakfast fare.
Hobba is a big, warehouse style cafe in Prahran. Its size means that you generally don’t have to wait in line for a seat (or, if you do, the wait isn’t long) and you can get straight into devouring the French toast you see above.
Fitzroy has a number of brilliant brekkie spots and Addict is one of my absolute favourites in the area. These fritters were divine, and I’ve made a mental note to go back for their hotcakes at some point.
There is nothing better than a sky-high avocado smash. Tall Timber’s menu is inventive, expansive and hard to choose from!
Their food is delicious, and the cafe is only a short wander from Chapel Street.
